Need a healthy breakfast at your fingertips? Keep these acai cherry smoothie prep packs that are full of superfoods in the freezer until ready to consume.
I always have one or two types of smoothie packs in our freezer. They help me stay on track, even when I’m lazy, by always having healthy breakfast ready to go.
Previously, I’ve shared my matcha pineapple, banana berry, and apple & greens smoothie meal preps. This newest version combines some of my favorite summer flavors – blueberries and cherries – with nutrient dense acai and kale. It’s both healthy and refreshing!
Ingredients
- Acai – Acai is a berry native to South America. It is packed with antioxidants and low in sugar. This recipe uses unsweetened, frozen acai puree packs.
- Cherries -I used bing cherries for this smoothie, but feel free to substitute a different kind if you’d like. Be sure to pit them before freezing so that you don’t damage your blender.
- Blueberries – Blueberries are considered a superfood and they help to naturally sweeten this smoothie.
- Kale -I always slip some greens into my smoothies. Kale holds up particularly well in the freezer and is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the plant, so I went with that.
I usually prep this in mason jars because that’s an environmentally friendly & cost-effective option. It saves time too, because you can dump the contents of the jar into the blender, measure your liquid in the jar, blend, then pour back in the jar to consume.
If you don’t have much space in your freezer, you can use reusable silicone bags or Ziploc bags.
